just a bunch of kids from south-east sydney who are finally trying to compile a useful reference guide of all the banh mi places they eat at in order to keep track of prices and deliciousness. from left to right, alicia eats chicken rolls, jennifer eats salad rolls, and vanessa eats pork rolls. we're really just doing this for ourselves because we're so forgetful about which places we like the most, but maybe some odd visitor out there will gain something from our incoherent and unprofessional ramblings!

I'm not sure if I recall incorrectly but I don't think they gave me lettuce when I bought a pork roll here? Is lettuce specific to the salad roll? Hong Hang Pork Rolls Kogarah (pork roll)

name: pork roll price: $5 (usual) ingredients: pork, cucumber, pickled carrot, pickled radish (I think I spotted a piece in there), coriander, shallot, onion, chicken liver pate, mayonnaise, soy sauce, salt and pepper, chilli thanks to goodfood for helping me out with the ingredient names shop: Hong Hang Pork Rolls Kogarah; 23B Railway Parade, Kogarah my order Pork roll with no onion, shallot or chilli - but a bit of extra carrot please! thoughts Yummm this was a good roll. Bread was crispy. This was probably the most filling Vietnamese roll I've ever had due to the sheer amount of meat in it. I don't think any of the pork rolls I've had before had all three types of pork. I loved the meat but if you're not a big fan of meat or fatty meat then you may not enjoy it as much, as the barbecue meat had that fatty aroma to it (which I love). Hot Bread in Rockdale (salad roll)

Bread was crispy. Pickled carrots were yum. Very generous with the coriander. Of note the mayonnaise at this store is more creamy than others which is why Vanessa doesn't like the rolls here. I think the creamy mayonnaise is still very yummy. Also, because they use a wedge of cucumber here unlike a lot of other places which use a strip, my roll (pictured) had a creamy blander side on the right and very pickly flavoursome left side haha. Didn't really matter to me though, took turns eating both sides. They don't have shallot at this store (if I recall correctly). Overall, yet another yummy salad roll. overall 3.5 out of 5 rolls. By nature salad rolls are a little less yummy
